Evaluation un proofed and unspelled

production meeting reflection 1

production meeting reflection 1

In the first production meeting we all had to sit in a circle and present our presentation idea for a music show. Everyone had to write down what they thought about everyones presentation by saying what was good and what was bad. The reason this was done because so everyone can have more of a clear idea whos presentation idea they would pick. I thought gareths idea was quite good because it had everything that a show needed like games and chat interview plus how it would be runned through in the show.

Production Meeting Reflection 4

Production Meeting Reflection 4

This week i have been helping navjeet my director with a master script because it will help all the crew members that have jobs for this show to work. The master script has been broken down to one big part and the other to small, the big part was done by me and my director. It was split into six section and had to be done in one lesson by me and the director navjeet. Other parts are done by the crew members so they know what they are doing in the process of the show. Next week we are all going to have a practice run of the whole show so when it comes to the main live show everyone will know what they are doing during the whole show.

Finished Master script

Finished Master script

The master script is now done for all the crew members of this show to look and see what they have to do which involves them doing different stuff in there own job role. Everything is now colour coded so it will be easier for everyone to see there own job role and see what the have to do in a particular stage of the show.

Beginning Master Script

Beginning Master Script

In the master script, the director and i had to make a master script for the whole crew so everyone can look and see what exactly they have to do. The master script contains everyones job role and information about what they have to do in the show in order to make the show work. The script had been made mainly by me and the director navjeet, we had filled in the first six rows and the rest is done by the rest of the crew members. All the data for the six rows i had got from nisha running order script which told me how and what was going on  in the show.

Production meeting reflection 3

Production meeting reflection 3

My job role is a vision mixer where i have control over the switching of the screens and the different transitions to help the switching become more flowing and smooth throughout the whole show. This week i have be working on knowing the different transition and the basic information about the job. I have been playing around with the transition and working how to use it at the key points that will help make the show look good from my job.

I now know what each transition is and how it should be used, also i have complete a video of different transition used for me to look at when I'm not to sure about one of the transitions.

I would need change nothing or develop anything.

i will have work set for me from my teacher at the media department.

Testing Transitions

Testing Transitions

Fade In

Fade in is a common transition which everyone uses to open up a show or a next scene depending what they want to change or going on to. I would use the transition for when moving on from a opening of the logo to the presenters who will proceed on with the show. Its usually used to move from one person or scene to another, this only because it help the transition to one scene to another be more smoother and helps its follow throughout the show, but the effect is only used to open up he next scene not to close down.

Fade Out

Fade out is mainly the opposite to the fade in, its used to close a scene or close the end of show. The transition effect is mainly used to help the show close with a flowing and smooth like closing end to the show. I would use it in the show me and my team are going working on. I would it during closing a scene then to another opening with the the fade in, this effect helps simplify the show and make it look professional and easy throughout when using it.

Push

The push effect is another effect which is similar to the fade in effect, it moves from one scene to another which helps the show look more interesting because you won't be using the same transition over and over again. I would this transition effect when it come to moving from the interview to the games that will be happening during the show. The transition is a movement that moves the whole scene to one side which is mainly to the left.

Scale Down

Scale down is a transition where when the scene is finished or left to carry on, it moves everything to one side into a corner and brings up another scene to continue with the show. I would use this transition when the presenters say that they will be back after the break, then use the transition to the logo then advertisement or when something is half shown then moves to a different scene and back to the first scene to continue with. The transition give a good effect on the show and the audience by it being interesting plus the transitions becoming smooth and flowing.

Square Opening

The square opening is where a scene can be opened but a different effect because the transition is a square shape of the scene coming up from the middle of the page and out to cover the screen. I would use this effect by using it when the show is starting up after the ad-break because a fade in will get very boring and interesting for the audience because they would see that effect all the time on other shows.

Multi media production idea

Multi media production idea

Programme format

The programme format is going to have a informal mode of address, this is because the idea i have for the music show is going to have a similar theme and show like mtv cause of the urban look it has which would appeal to every genre for example from house to rock. The studio will have a bright look because it would look simple and not to complex and it would be difficult for the viewer to see the show. The style of the studio will look very urban and fashionable for all genre, on one side i have an idea of have a big magazine poster on one side of the studio because of mini games i mit have in the show which links to the poster. The target audience i will be aiming for is 14- 20 year olds.

Title of show

Content idea

The content idea i have for my show is that i will have a few mini games and quiz like answering a question to win a prize to go to the tomorrowland, also games like finger football where you have to score a goal to get the other person pied in the face. Plus i have other ideas like having a game where you have to pull a rubber band with someone but with your teeth and see how far you and the other person can stretch the band.

Running order

The running order of my idea is that:

  •  the show will start by having a simple run of the music in the background and the logo which will start up the show following with three presenters walking on to the show and talking about what will be happening on the show.
  • then the presenters will have to come and sit down and talk about the new music videos
  • Exclusive interview with the artist which the presenters will talk to for a few minute.
  • after the chat with the guest the presenters will have to play a game of a quiz round answer as many question correctly under 2 mins
  • Compitition is a chance to win four tickets to the tomorrowland in beligum for three days which includes dreamville relax rooms (for four people), four full madness (vip) comfort passes and £2000 spending money for the trip.
  • Then moving on to watching to the new music video then after watching it we will bring on another guest to the show that was in the music video.
  • after the chat with the guest the presenters will have to play a game where they have to play finger football.
  • Then the show will come to an end.

Studio design

Sketch of background

Visual style

The graphic side of my show is that the camera angles will be following in terms of movement and the shot will be a mixture of mid, close up and long shots to keep the show more interesting for the viewer to watch plus there will be different angles to which will also help.
The show will have different camera technique so the show will be intersting and funny to watch, but when the show is recorded, the editing side to everything is going to have a smooth and flash effect added to the show which would keep the audience engaged to the show.

Presentation style

The presentation style will be informal because if the show was formal it would e serious and it will be boring for the my targeted audience aged 14-20 years old. The main reason i would make the show look informal is because the presenters wont have to be serious, they will have to be entertaining which will help the audience be more engaged and intersted in what is going on in the music show. The show will have different activities anyways which will hopefully keep the audience entertained.

Production meeting reflection 2

The idea i gave to everyone is that the production schedule need to be changed and i had looked at that the sheet and i had a few suggestion for some of the changes. Everyone had thought that was a good idea because it made more sense and everyone argeed that is would help the show keep the audience more enagaged.
Next week i will be working on my job role and there will be work set for me by my teacher on monday.

    Case Study

    Case Study

    Live

    live sports

Visual style and mode of address
In this clip, there's a live streaming video of a tennis game between Nadal and Delbonis. The visual style of the video comes across quiet intence because of game between Nadal and Delbonis. The live game also makes the audience at home who are watching it quite off the edge because of the exciting game throughout th whole live. Live coverage of the game bring the audience an interesting and exciting atmosphere. For example at 1:04:36 the audience would see Delbonis's reactions after losing a point aganist Nadal.

    Maintaining viewer interest

The live the game keeps the audience interested by the different shots and movement of tye camera, also they covers and captures everything which give the affect of the audience who are watching it at home. The camera shots also maintains the viewers interest by the replys shown to the audience, its helps the audience focus whats going on in the live game. For example at 1:29:00 everyone gets up from there seat when a comeback has been displayed by Nadal.

    Coverage of action

The coverage of action in the live game has a lot of camera's round about 4 camera which helps the audience at home see whats happening in the live game. for example between 0:58:33 - 0:59:06 there you can see a wide view of the crowd which are the audience. The coverage of action seen in this live game is that you can see everything and whats going on at that moment because its live.

Constraints of Studio or location environment

The things that can be bad about live sports is that some of things going on around the field or court can't be captured by a good angle. for example at 0:57:30 you couldn't see what Nadal was doing during to there game. The audience themselves cant see whats going on which effects them in a big way.

    concerts

Visual style and mode of address

The atmosphere at the concerts is very exciting and you can see a lot of people partying, plus dancing around to the music. for example at 01:17 you can see a big crowd of fans which are the audience dancing to the music which shows that the atmosphere is positive, also that audience give away there positive attitude to the concert.

    Maintaining viewer interest

The concerts maintains the viewers interest by the artist playing there songs also by the different camera angles shown to the audience at home. for example at 07:46 you can see a wide view of the whole crowd which are the audience also the DJ who is playing the music at the concert.

    Coverage of action

The coverage of action in this clip is very good because you can a wide of the crowd and the DJ playing the music while everyone is partying. The audience will be able to see everything there and that will give an effect that they are there partying with them. for example at 9:58 you can see that the crowd there are partying to a good song so they have flashing light to help them to get into it more and also capture the whole view of whats going on at the concert.

Constraints of Studio or location environment

Here in the concert some of the camera's couldn't film the main artist properly because of the artist moving about and that would make a the audience seen not interested in the concert if they where to watch it at home. for example at 01:13 you can see that the camera is only covering half the screen with the artist and the other half with nothing because they have not captured the artist properly.
    public events

Visual style and mode of address

This clip is about princess Diana who had died and now they are having a public event which is Diana's funeral. The public event looked very somber by the death of the princess. for example at 41:04 you can see that the coffin is been take into the west minister abbey. This show how the darkness of mood is bring down to audience which brings up a negative and sad atmosphere for the whole world.

    Maintaining viewer interest

This clip helps maintain the viewer interest by the different multi camera shot taken it also makes the audience more focused to the public event by interesting angles which help the audience understand whats going on at the event. for example at 41:50 the audience can understand that Diana's body is coming and now they must stand up to show respect as they take her to the car. This is way for the audience knowing whats going on and also still having them focused in why they are there for.

    Coverage of action

The coverage of action show in this clip is very clear to the audience by capturing everything that happens at the funeral. The event covers everything like the crowd out side and the audience inside plus the they have TV effects that have picture of princess Diana to so show and make the audience know what they are focusing on. for example at 45:15 you can see that princess Diana's is been taken to the car with the royal family. This makes the audience see what is happening and make it more interesting.

Constraints of Studio or location environment

In this public event princess Diana funeral was filmed to the public but at 46:00 as they put the coffin in the car the camera has filmed at a long shot. This would be a constraint because the location of the camera filming at is not very effective to the public and it doesn't give the effect of actually being there which i think it should have done.

    Studio

    game shows

Visual style and mode of address

In this clip you can see its about a game show called celebrity juice where different celebrities come and play games so they can win in the end of the match against the other team. In the game show the atmosphere is usually quite exciting and funny because of the dirtiness of the presenter. for example at 17:06 the presenter brings out a cup of beer and makes one of the celebrities down it all. This makes the atmosphere very funny and exciting because of the weird things that go on in the game show, also it get the audience more focused because of the interesting stuff that happens in the game show.

    Maintaining viewer interest

The game show maintains the viewers interest by the fun games that happen in the show but they won't be able to capture all of it if they didn't have more than one camera. for example between 6:55 and 7:03 you can see that one of them say a joke and they capture everyone's reaction to the joke. This shows overall keeps the audience entertained by the funny humor in the show.

    Coverage of action

The coverage of action in this game show is made to be used multi camera so they can capture everything that happens in the show. for example at 8:59 you can see a clear view of the whole main studio which helps see where each celebrity is and there reactions at the same time as a whole. This also makes the coverage of action much easier for the audience because it helps them see and understand the game so they can get involved with the show.

Constraints of Studio or location environment

The game show celebrity juice is all fun and games but when there trying to record the camera man is not taking good angles or shot for the auidence at home that are watching. The shots that are taken from 6:50 to 7:03 the shot taken is clear but boring it doesn't show any effects for the audience to enjoy.
    chats shows

Visual style and mode of address

In the chat show Justin Timberlakehas come to the show to promote his new songs, here they would use a lot of multi camera's because they would want to get everything that happens, plus the atmospheres here in the chat show is quite positive because of the super star Justin Timberlake. for example at 0:47 you can hear girls screaming in the background where the audience sit. This shows a lot of positive mood to the atmosphere.

    Maintaining viewer interest

The show maintains the viewers interest by the practical things they do so the audience don't have to see a chat show where its boring and they talk about stuff that they don't want to know. for example at 11:02 Justin Timberlake are playing mini golf in the main studio with Jonathan Ross, this displays to the audience is that there it a funny and exciting show to watch.

    Coverage of action

The coverage of action shown in this chat show is clear because they use good camera techniques so they can capture everything that happens in the show. for example at 12:52 you can see the whole studio where they are playing mini golf at. This shows that they can still get a place where they can use in the main studio so they can play a game to make the chat show more interesting for the audience to see.

Constraints of Studio or location environment

The chat show is been filmed in the large studio and when justin timberlake comes from the small studio to the large studio at 0:47 you can hear girls screaming for him and i think the contraint here is that they should of had a camera shot of the audience to see there recation when the celebrity comes on to the chat show.

    magazine shows

Visual style and mode of address

The magazine show'a atmosphere is very positive because of cool stuff that happens in the show. for example at 0:30 seconds into the show and you can see that one of the presenters jason is playing a game and talking about the technology. This means that multi camera is very vital in the magazines shows because of the effect which is shown to the audience which also make the atmosphere very interesting.

    Maintaining viewer interest

The gadget show is magazine show that maintains the viewers interest by what they do in the show and the different types of gadget they might use to show what they do towards the audience. for example Between 1:00 and 1:23 which is to the end they show different types of gadget and what they can do in real life.

    Coverage of action

The gadget show have a coverage of action only in there small studio but they cant get they much of the studio because its such a small studio which is not useful. for example at 0:26 you can see that the studio is just big enough to fit in two presenters when they are talking about what they are going to do. The coverage of the studio is poor in terms of the view the audience will have to see.

Constraints of Studio or location environment

The constraints in this magazine show is that the show has a wide range of loaction but they are not clear as for the audience which they would not be able to see what the show is displaying the different and interesting gadgets but at 0:49 you can see the shot is not clear enough for the audience to see and the shots are to quick for them to se what the gadgets looks like.
    Live Studio

    talent show

Visual style and mode of address

The show is about people who think they are talented and they can show it to the royal variety, here in the show you would see the atmosphere very calm and emotional. for example at 3:18 you could see that they end of the performance the story of it got a bit emotional for people which was a good thing because it makes everything more interesting and exciting to audience there and at home.

    Maintaining viewer interest

This shows maintains the viewers interest by the camera facing the performance and then facing the judges to see there reaction. for example at 3:20 you can see the audiences and the judges reactions to the performance which made some people tear up by the performance which maintained the audiences and the judges interest to the show and act.

    Coverage of action

The coverage of action in the talent show Britain got talent is very good because after the performance they show the whole audience behind the judges reaction to the piece of dance. for example at 3:28 the camera switches to show the audience when they get up to clap for the dancers when they come out of there performance. This also shows how the audience would be interest by the way of the performance was very good and they would like them to get through.

Constraints of Studio or location environment

The main constraints for this show is that the audience would like to see more of the talent shown instead of the judges watching it and the other background audience behind them. At 3:00 you see a few quick shots of the audience watching whats going on in the show or the talent shown to everyone who is watching it.
